Copenhagen trio Shiny Darkly announce the release of their debut UK single ‘Soft Skin’, released October 6th via Crunchy Frog Records.
With a nod to the intense post punk of Joy Division, a wink at the epic gloom pop of The Horrors and hours spent worshipping at the discordant altar of the Jesus and Mary Chain, Shiny Darkly’s haunting sound puts them at the dark heart of a new wave of Nordic Noir music.
In Denmark, they have released the Dead Stars EP and have also performed at the likes of Roskilde Festival, Iceland Airwaves, Reeperbahn Festival, Eurosonic Festival and SXSW, and built an army of fans since forming in 2012.
Upcoming UK debut ‘Soft Skin’ combines doom-laden guitar stabs and synth drones with a chorus so catchy it will haunt your dreams, before collapsing into a blood-curdling black hole of discordant guitars. It is taken from their debut album Little Earth, which will see a UK release in early 2015.
Shiny Darkly are Kristoffer Bech (vocals and guitar), Mads Lassen (drums) and Oliver Matthew Volz (bass guitar). They dress in black.
