'No One Left To Meet' is Broken Hands' latest single and was BBC included on Radio 1 's Introducing play list last week - receiving plays from the likes of Fearne Cotton, Greg James, Scott Mills, Huw Stephens etc. The track was produced by Tom Dalgety (Royal Blood/The Maccabees etc) & is out now on download.
Broken Hands' cultivation of space rock, psychedelic garage and blues influences has taken them rapidly away from their initially self-promoted home-town shows into increasingly larger spaces across the UK, and their sound has seen them being picked up to open for Band of Skulls on a UK and European tour and landed them firmly on the bill for The Rolling Stones' Hyde Park shows last summer. Next weeks’ SXSW 2014 will see their debut performances in the USA.
The band were actually formed where they still live, in Canterbury near the south coast of England. Broken Hands are brothers Dale (vocals) & Callum Norton (drums) - Jamie Darby (guitar) - Thomas Ford (bass). In 2013 they all moved into a secluded home in the Kentish countryside, there they have been writing and working on new material centred around travel, flight, weightlessness and the reflective quality of Silver. Their resulting new sound was deployed early in 2014 through 3 sold out shows leading up to this year's SXSW. Later in March and April the band will support Rough Trade Records' Howler on a 11-date UK tour before either heading into space or staying here to join festival circuit.
