Flow Festival is thrilled to confirm that Outkast, one of the most popular hip-hop groups of all time, will be its first headliner as part of its official line-up announcement today.
Taking place from 8th-10th August, the boutique event makes a welcome return this year with a broad selection of the moment’s most interesting music, stunning visual displays and unique festival diversions.
The crown jewel in Finland's music calendar, the event is organised again in the historic Suvilahti, a former power plant located just a short walk from the cosmopolitan capital Helsinki, former 'World Design Capital 2012'.
Besides the comeback gig of Outkast, the festival has announced 30 artists confirmed to play so far, including gloom-rock merchants The National, R&B soul artist Janelle Monáe and controversial South African hip-hoppers Die Antwoord.
Other acts coming to Suvilahti will be Darkside, the joint project of Nicolas Jaar and multi-instrumentalist Dave Harrington, U.S. based Blood Orange, who rose to prominence with last year’s 'Cupid Deluxe', and the inimitable Charlie XCX. The event will also offer the return of shoegazers Slowdive, as well as a performance from Nina Persson, former singer of The Cardigans, who released her solo debut early this year.
Electronic music will be a prominent fixture, featuring French producer Kavinsky, as well as a frontline of Brits including Bonobo, Jamie xx and Mercury Award nominee Jon Hopkins.
The 3-day tickets are available through Lippupalvelu and Ticketmaster from 8am today (March 6th). Further additions to the line-up will be announced soon – watch this space!
