“He’s just seventeen… but the boy can sing. His melodies hit you where it hurts and his urgent sense of rhythm suggests lyrics and chords are written in between tweets and snap chats. In other words, he's the sound of right now.’’ - Peter Guy, The Liverpool Echo
Paddy Clegg, an emerging Solo artist, takes self-sufficiency to new levels. Not only does he write his own music, he records, mixes, and masters everything, retaining total artistic control over his musical output. A feat that is all the more remarkable considering Paddy is just seventeen years old.
From a very young age the teenager has had a passion for music. He was a drummer in several bands before picking up a guitar in 2013 and beginning to write his own material, recording in his bedroom and later gigging in and around the Liverpool area. Paddy quickly earned praise from the city’s music journalists and bloggers, which led to him signing with SWC Artist Management.
At the beginning of 2014, Paddy released his infectiously catchy debut single ‘Back to the Start’. The track was received very positively, receiving regular airplay on radio stations across the north west of England.
Paddy's sound has drawn comparisons to The La's, and Jake Bugg, yet he retains his own musical identity and is making a name for himself through his hugely accomplished musical compositions which belie his youth.
‘Dancing Shoes’ is released 8th September 2014 on Glasgow’s ‘Twin City Records’.
